016 - Columbine
and Bluebells in midsummer, Snowy Range, Wyoming
Though the rains
were clearly coming, I couldn't resist stopping to enjoy this
profusion of
wildflowers just off the Lakes Trail. The columbine may be the
state flower
of Colorado, but I've never seen it grow more impressively than
in Wyoming.
Similarly, Wyoming's state flower, the Indian Paintbrush, grows
better in Utah.
