013 - Dawn at
the Cirque Meadow, Mummy Range, Colorado
Starting out
in the blackness of 4 AM, I arrived well before dawn and was rewarded
with a bright,
clear sunrise. The waves on the water indicate the stiff breeze that
channeled down
the valley in an icy wave. I was very relieved when the sun finally
peaked out from
behind the spruces behind me to warm things up. The horizon marks
the boundary
with Rocky Mountain National Park, and can be hiked to from Mirror
Lake in the
northern part of the park.
