taken from the dry lakebed of Lake Powell
as it experienced
its lowest level since it filled in the early 1980's.
Note the sand
deposits in the creekbed, lower right. Silt like this is
trapped by the
Glen Canyon Dam such that Lake Powell loses reservoir
capacity every
year.
