These walls
form a narrow passage over Redbud Pass on theway to Rainbow Bridge
National Monument
from Navajo Mountain. This section of the trail is the only spot
where one has
to go uphill if travelling from Navajo Mt to Glen Canyon. Wonderful
spot. In the
early 1900's, a fellow spent a lot of energy and $10,000 blasting a
passage suitable
for pack animals. Later improvements are thought to have lowered
Redbud Pass
by 50 ft. The route is no longer open to pack animals, and presents
a moderate challenge
to humans packing their supplies on their backs.
